Senior Accountant - Tax/Small Business

Smith, Schafer and Associates, Ltd., a multi-office accounting & consulting firm, is seeking a senior accountant with tax and small business experience to join our Rochester, MN team.

Requirements:

BA/BS in Accounting or related field
CPA or CPA candidate
3-8 years current experience with a public accounting firm
Strong technical, analytical and organizational skills
Proficient in Excel and Word
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with ProSystems software and QuickBooks is a plus

Abilities:

Prepare intermediate and advanced level individual and business tax returns
Assist with tax planning
Compile financial statements
Develop effective working relationships with clients and maintain client communication
Work in team environment with principals, manager and staff
Understand and effectively use current tax and accounting software applications in completion of engagements with ability to train staff
Research technical tax issues
